HLA DRB1 GENE POLYMORPHISM IN TICK-BORNE ENCEPHALITIS PATIENTS IN LATVIA

Introduction. Tick-borne encephalitis in recent years is very actual disease, and the level of Tick-borne Disease in Latvian is one of the highest in Europe. Compared to previous years, has increased tick activity and incidence. Spring 2012 year the tick incidence exceeds 10%, while the 2011 year it was 5,7% and 4,1% in 2010 Objective. To investigate the genetically determined predisposition to fall ill with a tick-borne encephalitis of different severity by analyzing HLA DRB1 genes in patients with different clinical forms.
